Flu Vaccination Program

The Mountain Home VA Medical Center and its affiliated community based outpatient clinics are once again providing FREE flu shots to veterans enrolled in VA healthcare programs. The regular flu clinics will begin on November 3, 2008.

VA regulations require that you be an enrolled veteran receiving your care at Mountain Home or one of its clinics and that you meet Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines. CDC guidelines require that you must be 50 years of age or older or if you are less than 50 years old, you must have chronic lung, heart or metabolic diseases like diabetes, blood disorders such as sickle cell anemia or weakened immune system (AIDS/HIV). 

Veterans can receive their flu shot at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center at Mountain Home in the Primary Care Clinic (building 160) during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday starting November 1, 2008.

Morristownand Norton Community Based Outpatient Clinic flu vaccination schedules are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

KnoxvilleOutpatient Clinic flu vaccination schedule for October 29, 30 and 31 is from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Their regular walk-in flu vaccination clinic schedule starting November 3rd is Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.  (All patients who have scheduled appointments will be asked by their provider if they want a flu shot at the time of their appointment.)
